About this book
A fascinating insider account of how Wi-Fi went from a late-night brainstorming session at a McDonald's in the Netherlands to the technology that connects billions of devices worldwide. Written by the man widely known as the "Father of Wi-Fi," this book traces over 30 years of wireless technology development — from the first wireless LAN product in 1990, through the pivotal moment Steve Jobs put Wi-Fi into Apple's iBook in 1999, to the smart home and IoT revolution. It's written for generalists, not specialists, making complex technology accessible to anyone who wants to understand how wireless connectivity changed the world.
